ME
Hi there, I’m Tate. My painting speaks as a celebration to our natural world. Most my work is created using freehand painting techniques. Along with painting I’m absolutely passionate about birds. I am an avid birdwatcher and care for three small parrots of my own.
I was born in Boston, MA and am a first generation, multiracial American- or in other words, I’m your all-American mutt.
Some areas that I’m constantly striving for growth in my creative practice are my use of color, creating dynamic compositions that express movement and harmony, and to collaborate with those who might not exactly identify as artists, per ce, and together bring creative aspirations to life.
I’m formally trained in the arts and received my BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago /merit scholarship recipient/ back in 2015. SAIC helped inform me of a conceptual approach to art. I can credit my technical foundation in drawing to The Rhode Island School of Design’s pre college program /full scholarship recipient/. Sprinkled along there in my education are credited courses completed at SMFA at Tuft’s University.
Thanks for learning a bit about me.
