Forsythias

301 Harris Ave, Providence, RI - 2025

104 ft x 22 ft

Vibrant blooms of forsythias, one of the first vivid bursts of color after long New England winters. These are symbols of hope, renewal, resilience, and new beginnings that echo the arrival of spring.

As part of the building’s recent restoration, this mural brings color and care back to a historic surface while serving the neighborhood in practical ways: slowing traffic along Harris Ave, helping deter graffiti, and (perhaps most practically) bringing joy to all.

The building is now home to The Womxn Project, a grassroots organization advancing equity and civil rights through art, advocacy, and community action, as well as Now or Never, a welcoming craft café and social space. Formerly, the building housed Dusk, the small music venue that us Providence locals forever hold onto fondly.

Extending tremendous gratitude to my dear assistant on this project, Sarah Dickow!
